There is continuous involvement from the regulatory community, as well as testing and psychometric professionals, at every step of the exam development process. A fundamental requirement for best practices in testing is to conduct a formal Job Task Analysis (JTA) every five to seven years to ensure the examination reflects current practice.
FSMTB is currently conducting the 2017 JTA. The Federation invites massage and bodywork therapy professionals with all levels of experience to participate in the survey, which will be available until August 18, 2017.
These findings are used to ensure that the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) properly assesses the relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for competent entry-level practice.
The FSMTB has conducted two prior JTA Surveys, first in 2007, and again in 2012. As with the prior JTA Surveys, the results of 2017 Survey will be carefully analyzed and made public for use within the profession.
